Palm Sunday Ringers

Session IV will ring during the Blessing of the Palms and the procession around the church on Palm Sunday. Participants must be able to walk and chew gum and/or ring handbells at the same time! ...not as difficult as it sounds...come join the triumphant procession and sing “All glory laud and honor” Session IV is limited to 11 people Rehearsals: Tuesday March 4 9-10:30AM &

SESSION V
Parent-Child Ensemble

Session V is open to ringers of all ages, but specifically intended to allow an opportunity for parents and children to make music together. Make it a family event! Session V is limited to 20 people

Music is an important part of our worship at Christ Church. Noted for its supurb acoustics, Christ Church boasts an extremely enthusiastic hymn-singing congregation! We have choirs for adults and children of all ages and welcome new members to each group. For more information about any of the choirs, call the Director of Music & Organist, Christopher Wells (337-3544)

Christ Church Choir
is a group of singers who enjoy making music and worshiping together. The choir sings regularly at the 10:00 AM service and rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:30-930 PM. This ensemble also participates in the annual Advent Lessons & Carols service as well as several services of Evensong each year.

Schola Cantorum (Teens)
is open by audition to teens who are interested in performing in an ensemble with high musical standards as defined by the Royal School of Church Music Level III proficiency. Schola has toured and sung at the Washington National Cathedral, St. Paul's K Street in Washington, D.C., Carnegie Hall and the American Cathedral in Paris. The ensemble sings approximately twice each month in church services, concerts, special occasions, and tours. Schola Cantorum rehearses on Thursday from 7:00-8:15 PM.

Voice for Life Trebles
is for boys and girls Grades Two through Eight, who are enrolled in the Royal School of Church Music program at Christ Church-Voice for Life. They attend two of three rehearsals on Tuesdays (4:30-5:30), Wednesdays (2:30-3:30), and Thursdays (4:30-5:30). They sing at the 10:00 AM service approximately twice a month. Choristers receive a first-rate music education in sightreading, pitch, rhythm, expression, and theory. An element of Christian Education is included in each level of Voice for Life. Parents of prospective choristers should contact Christopher Wells to receive more information.

The Sing ‘n Ring Choir
is for boys and girls in Grades Two and above. Rehearsals include work on basic music skills, proper singing and ringing technique, and fun! The choir sings in church several times a year (on Youth Sundays) and rehearses in the Choir Room and Undercroft on Tuesdays from 6:15-7:30 PM.

The Primary Choir
for boys and girls in Kindergarten or First Grade, is a wonderful way to introduce children to the joys of music making. Each rehearsal uses games, movement and singing to explore the basics of music. The choir sings in church several times a year (on Youth Sunday) and rehearses on Wednesday afternoons, 3:45-4:30 PM in the choir room.

Handbells

In addition to the Sing 'n Ring Choir Handbells are used throughout the church year to bring joy and instrumental variation to our liturgies. There are five opportunities to participate in a handbell ensemble. Each handbell "session" consists of two rehearsals and one performance. One may sign up for one or all handbells sessions.

The Parish Choir

is for anyone Grade Three and up who would like to sing once, twice, or several times a year in church. The Parish Choir sings at the 10:00 AM service with the Christ Church Choir four times during the year and rehearses at 9:00 AM on the Sunday they sing in church. Parish Choir dates for 2007-2008 are November 18th, January 27th, March 30th and May 25th
